For use during the years 2004–2006 is intended EUR 3 billion by the Czech Ministry of Education has provided the European Social Fund. The Ministry has a plan of this money to promote science, research, and particularly changes in the existing educational system at Czech schools.

No specific project but has not carried out, and some workers in the field of education warned that the entire amount may fail to timely and effectively drain. During Wednesday's debate Standing Conference on Education teachers highlighted the administrative difficulties and confusion that usually accompany the proposed project. Deputy Minister of Education Alena Štěrbová still believe that the amount awarded will be used wisely.

The proclaimed changes to the system should be to establish educational programs, which replace traditional curricula and allowing individual schools to enable them to better profile. Adequate training of teachers will be organized by the Pedagogical Centre in Prague and its safety is expected to release about 1.5 billion.

The second half of the sum will be reserved for sub-regional training projects, communities, schools and nonprofit organizations.
