Masaryk University students organized a conference on Bosnia.

Students at the Faculty of Social Studies last week organized a unique conference on the situation in postwar Bosnia. The event, entitled Ten years after Dayton was invited as the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Czech Republic Ivan Orlić.

Students at the Faculty of Social Studies last week organized a unique conference on the situation in postwar Bosnia. The event, entitled Ten years after Dayton was invited as the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Czech Republic Ivan Orlić.

It all began with an exhibition of photographs on the premises of the faculty. The actual conference started on Wednesday 23 Nov. currently Ambassador Ivan eagle. "His participation here are excited. The fact that you found us on time is the anniversary of peace treaty proves that such action is absolutely unique, and that with us nothing like ending, "said one of the organizers Kasum Damir, who himself was born in Bosnia and the Czech Republic fled with his family during the Balkan wars.

In addition to lectures, which spoke to the leading experts on Balkan issues, was prepared Balkan tasting meals. Evening films in No Man's Land, a satirical tale of two opposing soldiers who are going on behind the war in Bosnia in 1993.

The organizers were the happy result of their work. Student interest in what happens in the Balkans, has exceeded expectations. Their number exceeded the capacity of such double room, where the conference took place. „Do we have managed to create a space for debate about how to actually look like the Bosnian War and the Balkans closer to the general public,“ said Matthew Kurian, a member of the Student Section of the International Institute of Political Science, which involved the entire organization.

The Dayton peace agreement was reached after lengthy negotiations that took place during November in the town of the same name in Ohio. Not only brought peace to a troubled region, but their conclusions about building a new political system of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
