On the contrary, the University of the European Union suffers from a lack of money, which is especially reflected in the quality of teaching. EU member states spend on higher education, about two-tenths of one percent of GDP. For example, the Czech Republic with its nine hundredth moves along with Italy and Slovakia to the lower rungs.

The British study, among the ten best universities included only two European universities and two from Britain: Cambridge (second place) and Oxford (tenth place).
