Open Science - Student Conference in Prague

Forty two day conference of young researchers is taking place these days in Prague. Reports indicate the interests of students. Listeners will hear lectures on gamma radiation, plasma, plasma-chemical water purification, detection of genetically modified organisms in food or modeling schizophrenia in rats.

Nearly forty young researchers presenting the results of its annual effort to the Academy of Sciences and universities. Reports indicate the interests of students. Listeners will hear lectures on gamma radiation, plasma, plasma-chemical water purification, detection of genetically modified organisms in food or modeling schizophrenia in rats.

„I was surprised that I met there with lots of nice and friendly people who treated me as equivalent to a colleague,“ said the seventeen year old student ČTK Gymnasium Opatov Michal Roškot. It is about a year to research workplace microwave molecular spectroscopy, high resolution University of Chemical Technology in Prague, where he deals with the measurement radiation of different frequencies.

Have also participated in an international conference organized by the department. He met her with the Nobel laureate in physics, the German scientist Theodor Hänsch. He won last year along with two American colleagues, the most prestigious awards for scientific discoveries, which enable more accurate description of the behavior of light.

In the first year of the project was able to research institutes to place 149 students in Prague's secondary schools and vocational schools. Students are successfully engaged in research or started their own research. It turned out that many are in a young age are able to systematic scientific work and its results are familiar with the professional and general public.
