Travel a little differently

Imagine that you arrive abroad, foreign people will willingly free house, show you around and invite you to a traditional home dinner. That is the dream? Not. Servas international organizations and Hospitality Club is absolutely normal.

Imagine that you arrive abroad, foreign people will willingly free house, show you around and invite you to a traditional home dinner. That is the dream? Not. Servas international organizations and Hospitality Club is absolutely normal.

Servas is an organization founded in 1949, which works on voluntary basis. Membership is free, it is no sect or religious movement. I'm in it for several years and is a very good experience. To become a member, you must recommend a current member.

Then undergo an interview with the coordinator and, if successful, will be included in the list of hosts. You can also offer accommodation, but if it is not in your power, it is sufficient if you offer assistance to travelers during the day. Visit the members can be in one country, perhaps even an exchange of children for one month during the holidays.

When you decide to use the services of Servas in a foreign country, ask the coordinator of the local members of the list. Before you go you get a so-called exit list for which you pay 500 CZK and is valid for you. These identification documents that show your hosts.

The vast majority of hosts, I have visited abroad, be nice. With my parents a year will accommodate about 25 people. Throughout their impressions we look at our city and our lives again from a different perspective, learn about other cultures and practice languages. More information about Servas visit www.servas.org.

The Hospitality Club, I have no personal experience, but recommended to us by several of our Servas guests. This organization was founded in 2000 and the contacts of their members run exclusively over the Internet (www.hospitalityclub.org). Hospitality Club members around the world help each other when traveling, whether it's providing a roof for one night or even performing in the city.

Participation is free and anyone can register. Compared Servas is a greater risk that you run into someone unreliable, but it is much more accessible and flexible. Just visit the online profile of potential landlords and contact him.

Together, these organizations cover about 100 countries together have over 21 000 members. If you like to travel other than closing the hotel, definitely Servas or try the Hospitality Club.
