The Special Study: General Physics

In previous parts of this series of fields, we introduce you to lesser-known variant of physics. Most students, however, the bachelor selects preferred classical physics. Here is a brief overview of where and how to teach physics. Note: This article has been updated 23rd 12th 2009 (-K-)

** Where ** Study Physics, sometimes published under the name of General Physics and Theoretical Physics, can be studied at five universities in the Czech Republic. These courses can be found in the study catalogs Charles University in Prague, Masaryk University in Brno, Palacký University, Silesian University in Opava and the University of South Bohemia in the Czech Budejovice.

Studio ** Features ** Field general physics includes basic knowledge of experimental and theoretical physics, mathematics and programming. Students improve in the areas of mathematics and physics, especially classical and quantum optics in condensed matter physics and nonequilibrium thermodynamics. An indispensable part of the study is also the study of mathematics, programming and computer technology. Charles University offers students the opportunity to Bachelor's degree specialization in astronomy and astrophysics, geophysics, meteorology and climatology, theoretical physics, optics or other specializations.

** Items ** Although the study of classical physics courses at various universities named differently, compulsory and optional subjects are usually very different. In studying the general physics courses to meet the type of physics-mechanics and molecular physics, physics, electricity and magnetism, Calculus, Linear Algebra, Mathematics for Physics, Programming for Physics, Physics in the experiments, use of computers in physics, optics, atomic physics and electronic structure of matter, theoretical mechanics, special relativity, Classical Electrodynamics, Introduction to Quantum Mechanics, Probabilistic Methods in Physics, and Thermodynamics and Statistical Physics.

** Application ** Student after completing a three-year study of general physics knowledge obtained in the experimental and theoretical physics, mathematics and knowledge of programming fundamentals. Graduates will be able to independently access both to the theoretical work, as well as experimental work in optics, condensed matter physics and synergetics. They also get an overview of the mechanics, acoustics, electricity and magnetism, molecular physics, atomic physics, quantum physics or relativity theory, and can handle mathematical language, which express the physical fields. In addition to readiness to continue a master's degree for which they are directed primarily undergraduate programs, graduate well used in basic and applied research of national and sectoral nature, in laboratory operations and businesses, specialized laboratories, metrology institutions, institutions that use science, etc.
