COMPARISON OF FIELDS: International Relations Part I

Are you among the lovers of modern history, international organizations and diplomacy? We will advise you what is different study of international relations at the individual faculties. In this work we focus on the Charles University and Masaryk University. Note: Article updated 5th 12th 2009

Admission control for combined bachelor and master's full-time and combined study consists of the Test of general study skills. Undergraduate full-time study will have two rounds of the entrance examination. In the first round for the same test as for the combined form. Applicants will be ranked according to score for the test, in order to progress from the first round of the 240 candidates (and all those who reach the same result as the 240th candidate) in the second round of written tests organized by the faculty. The second round will include: 1st test in modern history and the realities of North America, Europe and Eurasia 2nd Test of Language 1 (difficult) 3rd Test of Language 2 (less demanding)

The chances of admission to the Faculty of Social Sciences in 2006/2007: 15.7%

** ** Masaryk University At Masaryk University are studying international relations at the Faculty of Social Studies (FSS) at the Department of International Relations and European Studies. Offering this field is at the FSS in both single-subject and double-subject variation, both in time and in combined form. Students can combine field such as journalism and media studies, sociology and environmental studies. Advise can be especially combined with the security and strategic studies and European studies, which are basically sub-international relations, focusing on Europe and the EU. The three-year bachelor's degree can establish two-year master studies.

Admission is organized by the National Comparative tests of the foundations of social sciences and general study skills test.

The chances of admission to the FSS in 2006/2007: 16.7%

Unemployment FSS graduates (2005 data): 2.5%

Maximum planned number received in 2008: 500 and 300 full-time in the combined studies.

Student opinion: Jan, 2 year: „The faculty is as much modern equipment, such as the organization of education is concerned. We have access to the latest literature, and teachers are mostly young and welcoming. Just a shame that we have so few seminars. “
