A new study on UK: Oral History - Contemporary History

** What is it? ** The aim of this master's speci­alization is to educate university-educated experts in the field of contemporary history and oral history at the university master's level. Branch continues to bachelor degree programs social sciences and humanities, and focuses on a very promising issue of contemporary history in a broad interdisciplinary, geographical and temporal concepts.

Branch allows students to be profiled in two segments. The direction of history in addition to basic subjects from the field in the main menu allows you to specialize on specific themes interpreted in an international and interdisciplinary context. Methodological direction focuses on theoretical and practical issues of using oral history and other qualitative research methods in the recent past. The study is in both directions based not only on the acquisition of theoretical and methodological knowledge from various related disciplines examining the topic (except for history and anthropology, also from political science, sociology, social linguistics, psychology, social geography, etc.), but provides students with adequate opportunity to actively research examined the issue involved (through work, involvement in výzkum.projektů, participation in conferences).

** Entrance Exams ** The admission procedure consists of a written test based on the required literature and the oral interview of the bachelor thesis and motivational interview. A business written test based on the recommended list of literature – one question from each publication. In this part of the admission procedure can be obtained up to 5 points. Oral admission procedure consists of:

  • Evaluation of professional qualifications for the study of Oral History – Contemporary History. Candidates will present their theses topic, his professional focus and motivation for learning. This part of the oral exam is evaluated maximum 5 points.
  • Evaluation of prospective candidates experience in relevant field (field research, publications, conference papers, participation in projects, etc..). If the student proves relevant to the practice field, could get up to 2 points.
  • Evaluation of language skills. After proof of knowledge world language internationally recognized certificate will be credited 1 point candidates in the admission procedure.

** Admission ** Applicants may submit only one application form of study (full-time or combined). Admission is completed bachelor's (or Master) studies in a related fields by 30 9th 2008th Conditions for admission to meet every candidate whose score on any part of the entrance examination will not be zero, candidates will be admitted with the highest number of points gained.

** Graduates ** Graduates have the opportunity to become closely not only with the application of specialized experts in the field of scientific and research activity carried on campus, but due to their acquired knowledge, skills and experience to have wide application in the sphere of formal and informal education, non-university institutions and university type as or rank and file officers in public administration and political central, regional or local level, in the expert groups of the EU, UN agencies, networks, in the field of conservation in general and in the sphere of preservation of cultural heritage (eg. in historic homes, museums, etc.), then the position správců modern archival funds and personnel responsible for records management in government archives, but also corporate and business, of course, then find an application in the private sector as employees of non-profit organizations eg. in compliance and general protection of human rights monitoring in the area of ​​gender rights and minority rights, and will specialize in a particular social assistance and counseling for selected individuals or groups. Furthermore, graduates will work as ordinary workers, extension personnel management of domestic, European and global political (or economic) institutions and organizations, as creative workers printed, electronic or audio-visual media or Oborná analysts and experts in the field of counseling.
