Starting next year, students could receive a housing allowance

Starting next year, university students could receive direct contributions from the state for housing. Entitlement to the allowances should have everyone who is studying properly (not prolong your studies) and lives outside the district, which houses the college.

Starting next year, university students could receive direct contributions from the state for housing. In this sense, the 25th January Student Association President expressed the Council of Higher Education George Nantl. According to him, had since 2005 to receive housing benefits everyone who is studying properly (not prolong your studies) and lives outside the district, which houses the college.

„The purpose of reform is to give money to students so that subsidies go where people want to study, and not where they are around. We have to liberate students from dependence on subsidies tracks and give them money to have freedom of choice,“ noted Nantl. He said the reform should also motivate students to study completed on time.

That post should be about 6600 crowns per year and would receive it had about 96,000 students. It is about a third more than today, when the state subsidizes a total of 68,000 beds used by students residing in dormitories, each approximately the sum of 8900 crowns. Should the implementation of the reform of financing available, will be reckoned with consequent increases in prices for accommodation in dormitories.
