Student Chamber of Council of Higher Education submitted a proposal for reform, under which the state would not pay subsidies to schools on the bed, but directly to individual students who meet the criteria. Reform has been engaged by the Ministry of Education. The main argument of the reform proposal is the fact that not all students have the capacity to get bed rails, and those who have to seek accommodation elsewhere, so they are at a disadvantage: the state grants will not see a penny.

As a result of this reform, it would be a price increase of beds in dormitories that without subsidies worth about CZK 2000 one. Under the new reforms would not post for some students was only 400 – 600 CZK. Some students also qualify for a subsidy will not be at all. These include students who have previously started another degree program and completed it, or students who have extended study.

Students at universities comment on this proposal in different ways resistance. They sign the petition and there are special web sites where you can discuss the problem: www.sweb.cz / zdrazeni.kolejneho . The Ministry will present a proposal to discuss students in May this year.
