RNDr. Alena Krejci, Ph.D., Department of Molecular Biology, Faculty of Science University of South Bohemia won the highly prestigious 2010 EMBO Installation Grants. It is one of six scientists who grant received in 2010. Grant is a three-year, to allow the establishment of research groups that will be carried holder grants, and their integration into the European scientific community.
Awards scientists who were selected by their high level of current research, establish a research group in the Czech Republic, two in Poland, one in Portugal and two in Turkey. Three of the award-winning scientists to move from the current place of work in the U.S., two from Great Britain and one from Australia. Dr. Alena Krejci worked at the University of Cambridge, from where it moves to the Faculty of Science JU.
EMBO Installation Grants were first awarded in 2006 and awarded annually. The aim is to strengthen science in selected member states European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO) and increase the scientific potential and competitiveness of these countries.
