Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, Mgr. Josef Dobes, signed a decision to grant the project "Training and research capacities for biotechnology fields and expand infrastructure. The project aims to build two new pavilions in the grounds of the Mendel University in Brno-Černá Pole, where facilities will be concentrated in the fields of biotechnology.
The new facility will replace the existing one, which no longer meet current requirements for teaching, research and development as its size and technical requirements for equipment. The aim of the university is implementing a project to improve the quality of study provided at all levels. The construction of pavilions and entry into service from 85% to fund the EU through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), 15% will be financed from the state budget. Total eligible project costs amount to nearly 619.3 million CZK, of which capital expenditure amounts to CZK 601.5 million non-investment of more than 17.8 million CZK.
The project implementation will take place from March 2011 and full operation of the pavilions should go in the second half of 2013.
