Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, Mgr. Josef Dobes, signed a decision on the grant for the project „Teaching and research capacities for biotech industries and expansion of infrastructure.“ The project aims to build two new pavilions in the grounds of the Mendel University in Brno-Černá Pole, which will be centered environment for biotech industries.
The new facility will replace the existing which no longer meets current requirements for teaching, research and development as their size and requirements for technical equipment. The aim of the university is implementing a project to increase the quality of the studies provided at all levels. The University will total 11,185 meters square area for teaching and research.
Construction of pavilions and commissioning will be 85% financed by the EU through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), 15% will be financed from the State budget. Total eligible project costs amount to almost 619.3 million CZK, of which capital expenditure amounts to CZK 601.5 million and non-investment of more than 17.8 million CZK.
Implementation of the project runs from March 2011 and fully operational by the pavilions should go in the second half of 2013.
