Czech Republic will be one of 25 countries, which will take place in the coming months ** International research knowledge and skills of adults PIAAC ** (Programme for International Assessment of Adult Competencies). Research to assess the level of basic skills needed for success in everyday life and the labor market refers to adults aged 16 – 65 years. In addition to numerical reading skills, the research will also focus on the ability to solve tasks in the IT environment.
** The research will last from September 2011 until the end of March 2012 ** and participation will be contacted 16,000 households. Their selection will be used to create reprezantitivního sample of the whole society, so households are not reported in research themselves. The survey will be carried out by trained interviewers equipment portable computer. All results will be processed anonymously.
The research results should be used to further the development of school education and training programs aimed at improving the skills needed for successful integration into society of the 21st century. The results will be compared between countries involved in research and with results of similar investigations in the Czech Republic in 1998. Research carried out under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and at the international level is controlled by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development.
