Fulbright Commission celebrated 20 years by opening new offices in Prague

J. William Fulbright Commission, an organization of the Ministry of Education (MoE) co-funded by the U.S. government, this year celebrates its 20th anniversary of its founding. On Thursday officially opened its new office in Karmelitská 17 in Prague 1

By establishing this new department should lead to significant cost savings for the operation of the Commission, and thus to increase the number of scholars who participate in the program of academic exchanges. Those interested will find among other things, the student counseling center in the USA, which organizes seminars, individual consultations and also runs a library of basic materials-related studies.

With the Czech-American intergovernmental agreement Fulbright scholarship and went out in the past two decades in the U.S. nearly 700 Czech students, scientists, university and high school teachers. Over 550 of them arrived in contrast to the Czech Republic, where he visited one of the selected secondary or high school or worked on any of the participating research institutes. Czech Republic since the beginning of cooperation contributes to one third of the budget of the organization, the remaining portion of the costs covered by the U.S. government.
