University of South Bohemia in the Czech Budejovice, along with the South Bohemian Region in cooperation with the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München and Parazitologickým Institute of Biology Centre AS CR, held the final conference of the transboundary project „ticks and their transmitted infectious diseases in terms of South Bohemia and Bavaria.“
This is a project of the CBC Objective 3 Czech Republic – Bavaria 2007–2013's financial participation of the South Bohemian Region. Close cooperation with Professor K. Pfister and his colleagues from Munich University enabled the project to extend the mapping of the sites of Lower Bavaria.
** The conference will be held on Tuesday 27 September 2011 10:00–17:30 pm in the Assembly Hall on the South County Regional Office ** (no. 2004). Conference languages are German and Czech accompanied by simultaneous translation. The program will feature two main papers with the results of research in selected localities in southern Bohemia and Lower Bavaria, as well as several other lectures on current issues of ecology and epidemiology of ticks and their transmitted infections (tick-borne encephalitis, Lyme borreliosis). Among the speakers will be colleagues from the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, National Health Institute in Prague, Czech Budejovice Hospital, Inc., Institute of Parasitology of the Biology Centre ASCR, Gen-Trend Company Ltd., the Robert Koch-Institut in Berlin and other workplaces .
