  • Due to the ever rising need for improving the process of teaching vocational subjects used the Faculty of Horticulture, Mendel University in Brno able to get funding from European funds and held in 2009 at the request of the Ministry of Education for a grant under the operational program Education for Competitiveness project titled Optimizing Master's Studies gardening courses at the Faculty of Horticulture in Lednice (reg. no. CZ.1.07 / 2 Feb. 00 / 15.0122) was launched in October 2010 and will be completed in autumn 2013. The total amount of the grant is CZK 6,376,777. Now located in the middle of its realization. *

The project is focused on innovation of selected subjects at the Faculty of Horticulture in Lednice. During the project at the Faculty replace nearly 200 domestic and 25 international experts who will present selected topics. Students have the opportunity to become acquainted with the problems they may encounter in practice is to consult with experts.

Is continuously innovated in 56 subjects taught. The project has actively participated in a total of 2,314 students already Bc. And downstream Mgr. degree studies, his lectures already implemented 99 external lecturers, including 13 from abroad.

For selected lectures are shot camera records that serve as study material. All students of the University are also available electronic PowerPoint presentations from innovative lectures.

Lessons from the Development of the project will be turned into conversions on an autumn workshop, attended by external lecturers and guarantors of all innovative fields of study. Here, exchange practical experience of teaching.

In the future it is planned another workshop, this time with the representation of students. At the beginning of 2013 will be held conference, which will be attended in addition to selected external lecturers and other guests.

The main benefit of the project is more pronounced linking university teaching and practice which students may in the future greatly facilitate entry into the labor market.
