At yesterday's meeting the government presented Education Minister Petra Buzkova bill establishing the College of Polytechnics in Jihlava, which should offer a degree in economics. If the proposal is approved and the school gets accredited degree program, it could have for the 2004/2005 school year to accept 570 students. This would be a non-university college offering bachelor's study program.
Ministry of Education would like to establish such schools in the future in several regions. They should arise from the colleges meet certain criteria such as the Central Region and Budejovice.
The bill is primarily supported by the region where the college should be located – Highlands. She also participates in the creation of material conditions necessary for the establishment and development of schools: school intends to give a free movable and immovable property which is owned.
