This year will be added to the school first-graders at least the last nine years. Total starts in the first grade of elementary schools go only 90 200 children, while in 1995 it was 127,700 small schoolchildren.

The biggest problems are with the fulfillment of the first class especially in Karlovy Vary, Liberec and Plzen region. A little better on the school in Moravia and in Prague. Brno City Hall has canceled 14 of a total of 70 elementary schools. Generally, the worst are but a small village-schools, which must make a special effort to ever gain any children. For example, Hall Jáchymovská promised parents whose children books in local schools, to pay 4000 crowns.

With the loss of students is also related to the gradual reduction of numerous teaching corps. On average each year leave from the 2% education teachers. Also there is interference and merging schools. During the past 4 years in the Czech Republic disappeared 130 elementary and 55 secondary schools.

In the future, especially with interference schools. Children prefer because school diploma and to this type of schools they reported less and less.
