Erasmus Mundus now without Czech universities

The European Commission has selected the first 82 universities from 17 EU countries that receive money from the student exchange program, Erasmus Mundus. No Czech university did not appear among them.

The European Commission has selected the first 82 universities from 17 EU countries that receive money from the student exchange program, Erasmus Mundus. No Czech university did not appear among them.

EU helps fund several years of visits by students from all over the world on some of Europe's univer­sities. For the years 2004 to 2008 allocated by the European Commission for Erasmus Mundus EUR 230 million.

The Erasmus Mundus program since the autumn will be able to get a scholarship 140 students and 42 academics who choose from up to 19 different courses. Can study in such fields as law, economics, sociology, mathematics and the environment.

What's represen­tation in the country concerned, are the best German universities, of which 13 were selected, followed by France, Italy and Great Britain. Among the selected universities also appeared from the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra.

The Erasmus Programme was launched in 1987 as part of the educational program of the EU Socrates. Abroad, thanks to him already released one million students.
