As we reported some time ago, teachers from the University of Palacky in Olomouc began in early March asking to increase their salaries. Now they are determined to go on strike in June. Their intention is also supported by teachers from other universities.

Approximately 1,800 employees of universities supported by an open letter addressed to the Government, which later also expressed by Education Minister Petra Buzkova. The teachers in their response efforts promised to increase funding for universities.
The consent of the Minister of protesters but not enough. According to them, not the Ministry of Education in the government proper word, and therefore we dragged into the problem and the government and parliament. Teachers from UP received support from the school including trade unionists, trade union and the University of the teaching union club. According to Petr Bilik, spokesman Olomouc initiative, it is desirable that funding for education accounted for 6% of GDP and only 3.7% rather than, as hitherto.
If the government fails to comply with this requirement, teachers are determined to go on strike. Minister Buzkova however believe that it would be possible to enforce a similar proposal already for next year.
